Trekking to the topmost peak of Ranipuram from the entrance gate and returning will take 3 hours on an average.

The Entrance Fees for an Adult is Rs. 30. There is not separate fees for Photography.

Ranipuram, the hill station village is situated in the Vellarikkundu Taluk of Kasaragod

The hill station is situated about 750 m above sea level. The peaks of the hills station rises to around 1020 metres above sea level. Ranipuram was earlier known as the Madathumala. It is adjacent to the Kottancheri and Tala Kaveri mountain belt in the Western Ghats. The area under Ranipuram is protected by the Forest Department of Kerala.

Ranipuram is abundant with varied vegetation, evergreen shola woods, monsoon forests and grasslands – all at once in the same region! It’s a best spot for Trekking trails and exploring the wilderness of Nature! The splendid beauty of this place makes everyone pause for a click or two!

The extensive forest ranges of Ranipuram merges with the nearby forests of Karnataka. The rich grasslands and forests cater for wildlife like misty moors, monkeys and wild elephants in the area.

Traveling through the high range roads of Kasaragod, kissing the mists of Ranipuram, one can reach the foot of the hills, at the base camp set up by DTPC Kasaragod. A cottage complex name ‘Ranipuram Resorts’ have been set up here to cater tourists. In the morning, by 8:00 A.M the ticket counter gets opened. An adult ticket costs Rs 30. Write your name in the ledger, cut your ticket and you’re ready to take on the trekking trails! The forest rangers shall warn you in case of any spotting of wild elephants were reported.
