Festival Overview

The Kandothu Koorumba Bhagavathy Temple is famous for the annual Kaliyattam performed in the Kavu. The Kavu is home for various Theyyams like the Puli Daivangal, Karinthiri Nair, Puthiya Bhagavathy, Madayil Chamundi, Raktha Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi, Kundor Chamundi, Kalari Moorthis etc. The Kavu is special in the sense that it also has the key worshiping of the rare Theyyakkolam called Poolinkeezhil Daivam. Though some renovations have been completed, the temple retains many traditional architectural aspects of its structure. A four day festival is celebrated on the second half of the month of Dhanu every year.
